Sharikat Khoo has developed a Pocket-PC On-Call application which enables current client,
caregiver and roster details to be downloaded to Pocket-PCs for reference.
The following data will be available on the Pocket-PC:
Client details
- Selected client details (name, address, phone, demographics)
- Disabilities
- Doctor and emergency contacts
- Suspends summary
- Regular roster
- Daily roster
- Recent caregivers
- Incompatible caregivers
- Service delivery instructions
- Client text (one selected screen)
Caregiver details
- Regular roster
- Daily roster
- Vacancies
- Leave summary
- Caregiver text
On the Pocket-PC, clients can be searched for by code, name or street. Caregivers
can be searched for by code or name.
A facility on the main Sharikat system extracts and formats the data for the Pocket-PC. It
will take several minutes to run this, however this could be run automatically.
We estimate that it will take only a few minutes to copy the data to the Pocket-PC.
Staff may continue to use the Sharikat system at the same time.
The advantages of this solution are:
- Replacement of paper details
- Security - the system is password protected on the Pocket-PC
- No fixed function devices or proprietary hardware - the system is available for
standard Pocket-PC's running Microsoft Windows (Windows CE) which can be used for
other applications
- All software (other than the standard Microsoft system software) has been developed
by Sharikat Khoo
